The extension of Sofia subway will have four stations being built up in the same time after city officials took the first sod of the latest one on Tuesday.
Acting Sofia Mayor Minko Gerdzhikov gave the start of construction works at eleventh metro station to link the stretch from Mladost neighbourhood to park-hotel Moskva.
In October and next summer another two stations will be launched under construction to round their total number to 18 by 2008. Thus the Sofia subway will have a passenger capacity of 250,000 on a daily basis.
